We stand with the  #BlackLivesMatter movement and support the peaceful protests against police brutality,  which were sparked most recently by the horrific killing of George Floyd but represent a persistent problem of unjust violence against Black people.

We vow to work to dismantle systemic anti-black racism that continues to be an entrenched problem throughout our society, including academia and STEM.

We recognize that this requires sustained commitment and action.  We will educate ourselves, listen, accept feedback and work to change our own actions to help dismantle racism.  We will integrate anti-racism and racial justice into our curriculum, research, mentoring, outreach and all professional activities.
