Lead author Dr. Caitlin Bemis has recently published a paper in JEB investigating the ability of a “muscle avatar” to recreate in vivo force-length dynamics. This method allows a muscle from a well-established rodent animal model to be used to investigate dynamics and mechanical function of muscles from other species:
